Since opening Shoreditch Grind in 2011, the brand has expanded across London with restaurants and café-bars, burning the candle at both ends to serve coffee, food and cocktails to a killer soundtrack. In addition, we’re now managing a very fast-growing online retail business as well as supplying coffee and training to Soho House group worldwide, and lots of other wholesale partners in the UK.
About the role
Grind Coffee Roasters is looking for an exceptional barista trainer to take ownership of the design and delivery of coffee training across various central London locations. You will be responsible for implementing, managing, and monitoring all in-house training of our Grind coffee crew in addition to supporting our wholesale partners, including the Soho House Group.
The role will require the successful candidate to lead on all aspects of coffee skills development, working closely with the Operations Team & Roastery Team to deliver both in-store training and Academy training.
This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is passionate about specialty coffee and understands the importance of delivering exceptional training and development to baristas of all levels. Previous experience working within the Learning and Development sector will be a big advantage!
Whilst this is predominantly a London based role, there may be some international travel required to help support Soho House with training and new openings across the UK, EU and USA.

Able to closely engage various groups of coffee professionals at all levels of experience

An attentive listener and support person to a group of rising bari-stars!
Devoted to educating, leading and encouraging staff coffee development
Highly confident and experienced in delivering and training consistency, quality and speed across various fast-paced locations
Management of coffee training development and quality control
Development and implementation of all coffee educational content.
Providing ongoing support to several barista teams
Teaching SCA standard coffee training courses.
On-site barista training and customer meetings where required.
On-site auditing of equipment, coffee quality, and barista skills is required.
• Minimum of 2-years’ experience working in specialty coffee in a training or managerial role
• Flexible working hours as you will be expected to work weekends and some evenings
• SCA AST certification desirable but not essential
