Coffee Shop Manager – Brighton Full Time

We’re searching for a superstar manager to join us as our Meeting House Lane store starts a new journey. We’re looking for a manager to organise daily operations, motivate the team and maintain the friendly welcoming atmosphere we pride ourselves on.

Barista experience is essential, along with a passion for coffee, a keen eye for detail and going the extra mile for our customers. You’ll be brewing up great coffee from our roasters Allpress along with guest filters from ever-changing renowned roasters. You will also be supporting our kitchen in serving our all-day dining menu.

Our ideal candidate will be someone with a ‘hospitality personality’, meaning: – you are upbeat, friendly – you have great customer service skills and know-how to adapt your service style to suit your customer – you’re a team player who works well with your coworkers – you can juggle multiple tasks at peak times but also keep busy when things are slow – you can take initiative and use common sense to tackle tasks. You’ll have experience in managing a small team in an independent setting, used to being responsible for the daily running of shifts, delegating staff where needed and ensuring a smooth and prioritised workflow.

About you:

• A minimum of 1 year as a manager in F&B.
• A minimum of 1 year as a barista in speciality coffee.
• Be competent and confident at dialling in a variety of coffees for both espresso and filter for optimal extraction and flavour, ensuring consistency throughout the day.
• Good organisation and timekeeping skills.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Be able to produce consistently high quality textured milk and have at least basic latte art skills.
• Know how to open and close coffee machines, dial-in grinders, and clean an espresso machine.
• Knowledgeable in-stock ordering, rotation and management.
• Able to produce super rotas to balance needs and workflow to suit staff and business.

The average working week will be 38-40 hours per week, including weekends, however, the rotas are down to you, you’ll set a fair schedule for yourself and your team. For this managerial role, there is a 6 month probation period.
