Shipping & Installation

Shipping

United Baristas Equipment Store can ship to UK physical addresses. Free shipping is available on most  products over £200, some exclusions apply. Some shipping surcharges apply for bulky and oversize items to remote regions. Shipping costs are displayed at checkout.

Dispatch

In stock products

In stock items are typically dispatched within two working days of payment clearance. We endeavour to keep the most popular products and variations in stock.

Product options and customisation

Products that require bespoke assembly, customisation or manufacture have longer lead times. It’s best to order these items well in-advance as it is easier for us to store these items in the UK warehouse than it is to speed up customisation work or manufacturing.

Product options and customisation are typically completed within 5 – 50 working days of payment clearance depending on the complexity of the work and the availability of parts. If your item is being assembled or painted by the manufacturer, the factory lead-times apply.

Factory order items

Items that are either bespoke manufactured or not always stocked in the UK warehouse are categorised as factory order items. These products are typically dispatched from the UK warehouse within 10 – 50 working days of payment clearance. Lead times vary by manufacturer, an overview is available here. We will contact you with an expected dispatch date when you’re item is en route to the UK warehouse.

Tracking or delivery information is provided at the time of dispatch.

Delivery

Bulky and heavy items are delivered palletised with a kerb side delivery service. Make sure you have the ability to move bulky and heavy items from the lorry into your premises.

Installation

United Baristas can install select items. Select the installation option at checkout to book this service.

Most products have installation requirements for electrical supply, water and waste. Installers are not able to perform plumbing or electrical work other than connecting the item. You can view the requirements on the product’s information page.

If you opt for installation, we will be in touch to arrange a pre-installation check. Assuming everything is ready, we will then be able to confirm an installation date. In many cases, the installer will bring the item with them to install.

Care & Maintenance

Cleaning

All grinders should be regularly cleaned to prevent build-up of grounds in the burrs and chamber. This is typically done in-house as part of the shutdown procedure. Cleaning your grinder both improves the quality of your coffee and helps prevent wear.

With use the burrs eventually lose their sharp edge becoming blunt. Replacement burrs are readily available and can be installed in-house by someone with moderate training or an engineer as part of a service visit.

Carbon Footprint

Embodied carbon

United Baristas is establishing a programme to enable this product’s embodied carbon to be deducted from green coffee’s carbon footprint to support coffee farmers. This initiative will effectively make this product carbon neutral when it reaches you.

We will update this section when the programme is formally launched. Your purchase of this product will be included in the programme and helps us to start this initiative. Thanks for your support.

Carbon emissions from use

Carbon emissions from use are overwhelmingly the most significant cause of most products’ carbon footprint.

In 2022, approximately 182 grams of CO2e was emitted for every kWh generated in the United Kingdom. Shifts to renewable and nuclear generation, we well as the phasing out of coal and gas generation, will reduce the carbon intensity of electricity over time.

You can lower your electricity consumption by both purchasing energy-efficient coffee equipment and using energy-efficient practices. More information is available on United Baristas.

Maintaining equipment

Lower the product’s total carbon footprint by keeping it in working condition and extending its working life. You can source parts and find engineering services on United Baristas Market.
